ジャケツイバラの冬芽

いつの間にかジャケツイバラに冬芽ができていました。というか、初めて冬芽を確認したのは8月頃だったように思います。一般に樹木は夏の葉が茂る頃には翌年の芽の準備もできているのです。大人しく大中小と並んでいる様子は、ほほえましく、この木の名前、全身を覆う棘におよそふさわしくありません。花芽と葉芽がそれとわかるようにすでにできあがっているのに感心します。

Before I knew it, Jaketsuibara, (Biancaea decapetala) has made winter buds. Or rather, I think it was around August when I first saw the winter buds. In general, trees are ready for the next year's buds by the time the summer leaves are thick. The large, medium, and small buds in a row are very cheerful and is in contrast with the tree's name and the thorns that cover its entire body. I am impressed that the flower buds and leaf buds have already formed in a recognizable way.
