西芳寺付近：Walking along the Saihoji River Valley

松尾谷（西芳寺谷）を歩きました。色々と生きものがいて、楽しい散策でした。今日は五山送り火の日。点火直前にかなりの雨が降りましたが、送り火はしっかり実行されました。三年ぶりです。

カジカガエルの幼体のようです。

こちらはモリアオガエル。この谷では初めて見ました。

おなじみ、キボシマルウンカ。

今年はあちこちで見ます。スケバハゴロモ。

これは不明種です。アカハネナガウンカに似ていますが、どうでしょう。色が白いのは脱皮直後だからでしょうか。

ヤマトタマムシです。

水晶谷：Crystal valley

昨日の例会で訪れた場所には水晶が算出する谷間があります。水晶谷と呼ばれているようです。岸壁の一部が石英の鉱脈になっていて、石英塊の中に水晶の結晶が見られます。パソコン画面で見ると見事な石英の結晶ですが、残念ながら実際の大きさはいずれも数ミリ程度のものです。画面の中の宝石箱ということで、我慢しておきましょう。

Yesterday after the monthly excursion of our club, some of us visited a valley where crystals are embedded in the cliff wall. The place is called Quartz Valley, or Crystal Valley. Part of the quay is a vein of quartz, and crystals are found in the quartz mass. When viewed on a computer screen, the quartz crystals are magnificent, but unfortunately, they are all only a few millimeters in actual size. Let us satisfy to keep the jewel box in the screen.
