アブラチャンの花芽

久しぶりに三川合流へ出かけました。アブラチャンの花芽が作られていましたが、いくつかは狂い咲きしそうな様子です。アブラチャンはクスノキの仲間で、葉芽1つが花芽2つを引き連れた「頑張るポーズ」でよく知られています。チアリーダーがポンポンを振って応援しているようにも見えます。

Today we visited the Three Rivers confluence. It has been a while. The flower buds of Abrachan tree (Lindera praecox) were forming, and some of them looked like they were about to bloom unseasonably. Abrachan is a member of the camphor tree (Cinnamomum camphora) family, and is well known for its "stalwart pose," in which one leaf bud is accompanied by two flower buds. It looks like a cheerleader waving her pom-poms in support.
