The fruits of the Masaki tree in the park were opening beautifully. The seeds are covered with a pseudocarp, and when ripe, the pseudocarp opens to reveal the shiny seeds. On the day I visited, the seed coat had just begun to crack open and the red seeds inside were peeking out. They shone in the late afternoon sun.
