ネムノキはマメ科の落葉広葉樹で、就眠活動をすることで知られています。 この木の葉痕は逆三角形をしていて、冬芽らしい冬芽がありません。そのはず、冬芽は葉痕の後ろに隠れているのです。このような冬芽の形を隠芽と言います。葉痕はあまり可愛くなく、どちらかというと薄気味悪い様な形。ムンクの絵『叫び』に描かれている人物のようにも見えます。
The Nemunoki is a deciduous broad-leaved tree of the legume family, known for its napping activity. The tree has an inverted triangle-shaped leaf scar and no buds that look like winter buds. This is because the winter buds are hidden behind the leaf marks. This form of winter bud is called a hidden bud. The leaf traces are not very pretty and look rather creepy.
