所沢の名の元になったトコロはオニドコロのようですが、このカエデドコロも、ヤマイモ科のつる性植物です。
The Kaededokoro that I had been observing in the park was a vigorous plant with thick stems, but it was repeatedly cut down last year and seemed to have withered away. However, I found a large plant of Kaededokoro in the vacant lot of a nearby apartment building. This land is a small patch of land that can't even be used as a garden, so I think I can enjoy it for a while. We confirmed the abundant fruit of the plant last year.
The name of the town Tokorozawa derived from "Onidokoro(Dioscorea tokoro)," and this Kaededokoro is also a vine of the same family.
