シャシャンボとシロハラ：Sea bilberry (Vaccinium bracteatum) and Pale thrush (Turdus pallidus)

山麓の公園のシャシャンボが熟し、野鳥が訪れています。頻繁に訪れるのは、ヒヨドリ、メジロ、そしてシロハラ。前2者が樹上の果実を食べるのに対して、シロハラはもっぱら落ちている実を食べています。シャシャンボはスノキ科の植物でブルーベリーの兄弟分。ビタミンたっぷり、アントシアニンたっぷり、この時期には甘みも増しているでしょう。シロハラは近づいても逃げる様子もなく、実をついばんでいました。

The Shashambo (Sea bilberry) in the park on the hill is ripening, and wild birds are visiting. The most frequent visitors are Hiyodori (brown-eared bulbul), White-eyes, and Pale thrushes. While the former two eat the fruit on the trees, the white thrush eats only the fallen fruit. Shashambo is a member of the Vaccinium family and is very close to blueberry. Fruits are full of vitamins and anthocyanins, and are probably sweeter this time of year. The the Pale thrush didn't seem to run away when I approached it, but was still pecking at the berries.
