This is the larva of the giant bagworm moth that I have been observing since the other day. On this particular day, the larva cut off a large leaf of an elm tree and added it to its case. As you can see in the picture, the larva is not only attaching the tip of the leaf to the case, but also the entire leaf. How can a larva that is always timid and does not show its face easily and hides in the case at the slightest stimulus be able to put such a big leaf on the case? It is a wonder.
