自宅そばの桜の木にアカホシテントウを見つけました。陽気に誘われて出てきたところを、寒波で動きが鈍くなっているようです。アカホシテントウはタマカタカイガラムシなどの天敵で、益虫とされます。成虫はグラデーションの効いた2つの星がきれいなテントウムシですが、幼虫の様子があまり可愛くありません。詳しく説明したサイトがあるので、虫に平気な方はご覧下さい。このサイトに詳しいです。
I found a Akahoshitentou (red-spotted) ladybird on a cherry tree near my house. It was lured out by the sunny weather, but the arrival of cold weather front seems to have slowed its movement. The red-spotted ladybird is a predator of scale insects and is considered a beneficial insect. The adults are beautiful with two gradated stars, but the larvae are not so pretty.
