ホオアカ：Grey-headed bunting (Emberiza fucata)

ホオアカは京都では基本的に旅鳥です。春のこの季節、特に菜種あるいは菜花の畑に立ち寄ることが多いと聞いて出かけました。この日はオスメス1羽が顔を出してくれましたが、大変に用心深く、なかなか近くに寄りません。かろうじて撮った写真をポストしておきます。

The grey-headed bunting is basically a traveling bird in Kyoto. In spring, they appear in rapeseed or rape fields, so my friend said. Just as he said, on this particular day, a male and a female were seen in the flowering rapeseed field, but they were very cautious and did not come close to us.
