知人が拾って来たゴマダラチョウの幼虫を保護しています。何でもガードレールの上を這っていたとかですが、昆虫に詳しいこの方は樹木にはあまり詳しくなくて、扱いがわからずに持ってこられました。エノキはまだ芽吹いていませんが、つぼみはふくらんだものもあるため、一枝手折って幼虫を止めました。しばらくすると幼虫は枝のつぼみをワシワシと食べ始め、一つの芽を丸ごと食べてしまいました。しばらく飼って様子を観察したいと思います。
We are taking care of a larva of a Gomadaracho butterfly that was picked up by a friend of mine. The larva was crawling on the guardrail, but this person, who is familiar with insects, is not so familiar with trees and brought it to me without knowing how to handle it. The enoki trees have not yet sprouted, but some buds were puffy, so I snapped off a branch and put the larva on it. After a while, the larva began to chew on a bud on the branch and ate an entire bud. I would like to keep it for a while and observe how it grows.
