真冬のウシカメムシ：Ushikamemushi, or bull stink bug in Japanese (Alcimocoris japonensis) in winter

林縁のグミの木にウシカメムシが止まっていました。この時期に見るのは初めてです。気温は10度を下回っていて、動きも鈍いので、ゆっくりと観察し、写真を撮ることができました。カメムシの仲間はとても多くて、様々な環境に適応したものがいますが、このように角が生えていたりして形が変わったものがいて、とても興味深いです。

An ushikamemushi, or bull stink bug in Japanese, was perched on a oleaster tree at the edge of the forest. This is the first time I've seen one at this time of year. The temperature was below 10 degrees Celsius and it was moving slowly. There are so many species of stink bugs that have adapted to different environments, and it is very interesting to see some of them with horns and other unusual shapes like this one.
